League Ranked - The Basics

This is some friendly advice for some of those who wonder why they don't get far in ranked.
Have SOME respect, even if they don't.
If you have something negative to say, DON'T SAY IT. Say it to yourself if you want, yell at your friend in skype, do whatever. But DON'T SAY IT IN CHAT. I can't stress this enough. One of the main differences (other than skill of course) from Diamond to Bronze is that in Bronze (and Silver and most of Gold and a little of Plat) you are faced with so many ragers who won't stop yappin' the whole game. What this does is it causes all your teammates to perform worse. To roughly quote a Diamond player "In Diamond, you mostly ignore mistakes teammates make because you know that they're just going to play worse if you get on their case about it". So if you have something to say, say it after the game.
DO NOT type phrases during the game such as "dude, really?", "this [ blank] is a fucking noob", etc. etc. you get the jist of the list.
NEVER say "gg" prematurely. You just piss off the ones on your team that are actually trying and bring the morale low. Sound corny doesn't it? Well trust me, if you gotta say gg before the enemy is at your nexus turrets, you'd get your point across better by afk-ing and going out for some tacos. And if you actually do that during a game then I officially condemn you to low elo for 25 to life. :)
Don't say "report [blank]" until after the game. If the guy's being a jackass then mute him and report afterwards. (Oh, and when you do say "report [blank]" give the reason why they should be reported *it better be one that you can actually report them for* otherwise you're just making yourself look like an idiot.)
Use pings properly.
Examples of properly used pinging:
Ryze is trying to split push bot, he's overextended and all the enemies are mia (why the hell is he split pushing anyway?). He is pinged "caution" and mia's are pinged across the lanes. When he doesn't respond he is told in chat to get back.
Udyr comes in for a gank on top. He pings he's on his way while he's at the Krug's jungle camp (formerly Golems). As he nears the lane, he targets the enemy top laner and his laner pings "caution", because she is out of mana and low on health. Udyr leaves and goes back to jungling.
Examples of poorly used pinging/lack of pinging:
Veigar is trying to split push bot, he's overextended and all the enemies are mia (okay seriously, Ryze was bad, but VEIGAR? wtf!). He is pinged "caution". Then pinged again...and again..and again..and again..and again..and SHUT THE HELL UP ALREADY.
Nocturne comes in for a gank on top. He doesn't ping while he's at Krugs, he doesn't ping when he's about to come in and gank, relying only on his top laner to see him coming and prepare for the gank only with map awareness. He reasons that she should have enough map awareness to see him coming and realize what's happening. Irelia, though she saw noc (this time) doesn't ping and merely sits at her turret, reasoning that he should recognize that she is out of mana and low on health, and back off on his own. Noc dives in, gets himself killed, and the two proceed to rage at each other in chat for the rest of the game.
Finally, as sort of a summary, just be all around as pleasent as possible in your games. Gets less people pissed at your, stresses less people out (that includes yourself). Whether it's fun to admit or not, most people just don't perform well under a lot of stress/pressure.
If you really want to get out of "ELO Hell", use a trick a well known streamer (Sky Williams) uses: DST. Now DST stands for Dick Sucking Theory (hear me out). It involves stroking people's egos in a way that makes them perform better (get what I'm saying?). Basically, if you make someone out to be a really good player, they will naturally play better to fit the description you set for them. It's a cool psychological trick. Sky explains it in detail in this video.
NOTE: No technique is ever going to have an effectiveness rate of 100%. However, this technique works incredibly well when done right.
